Tony, thank you for the honesty on my lastest image, "Smith Falls." Several other times people have mentioned my photos having a slight slant.. I work pretty hard for those pictures, so I certainly want to correct the easy little problems. My eyesight isn't what it used to be. So thank you very much - I really appreciate your help, and I'll be pay a lot more attention to that aspect of my work in the future. :) Steve

Thanks for the comment on Over the Valley. I agree with you on the light pole. I think it does add to the picture. I think the other lines carl was talking about is the bars on the side that i had to add due to the picture being taken the other direction. I agree that they don't look very good. But ohwell what can i do. As for where i mettered it. I think it was probably the sky. I shot this one raw and what it looked like out of the camera was alot different. Alot of the yellow wasn't there and the black wasn't as black. There was some more detial. Im glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you Tony for your comments on "Hurricane Ridge Sunset.” I'm pleased you enjoyed it. I very seldom use layered images, as they are really two or three images that can stand-alone. This image is one of the few that take (in this case) four high impact images that when put together make a single image that has an even higher impact together rather than alone.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.

Tony thanks for Liking "Aira Force2". It was 6 whole Seconds, not 1/6. ;)
it was very overcast and raining, and under lots of tree cover. and at F/32 and iso100 its not hard to get 6 seconds. :D the Rain was al over the lens making the image slightly smudged but i fixed that in photoshop. the wind was blowing the plants, blurring them, which wasnt very helpful either.
thanks for commenting. :)

Hello Tony. I'm glad you noticed "Watching You", my egret photo. I shot over forty photos of that damned bird that day, but the light in south Louisiana in the 96 degree summer is so flat, that I had to boost the background contrast to get the animal to stand out well. It's rare that we get so close to them, so it was worth it to scan all those images.

Hi Tony, Thanks for the kind comments on "Together We Stand".
You asked: "I really want to know what you do in post processing, because your colors are always so smooth." I think it has more to do with what film I use and how I scan an image. This particular image was made using Fuji Velvia. This film is a favorite amongst pro photographers for its richness and slightly exaggerated contrast and color saturation. It was scanned at 72 dpi on a Nikon LS-2000 Super Cool Scan. I hope this answers your question. If you would like to know more, PM me and I'll see what other information I can give you.
